Desideratum (N) Plural: Desiderata
  • something you desire or want
  • fancy word for a must-have

Advent (N)
  • the time when something begins or arrives
  • the coming of an important event, person, invention, etc
  1. The advent of Iron Man in the film makes the theatre chaos.

Hindsight (N)
  • understanding the nature of an event after it has happened

Contemplate (V)
  • observe deep in thought
  • to think about whether you should do something, or how you should do something
  1. The thought of war is too awful to contemplate.

Homespun (Adj.)
  • made at home, homemade
  • plain, simple, and ordinary
  1. Homespun life styles leads healthy life.

Strut (V)
  • to walk proudly with your head up and chest out to show that you think you are important
  1. The players strutted and posed for the cameras.
  2. In award ceremony, actresses show their arrogant strut.

Forbidden fruit (Idiom)
  • a thing that is not allowed and that therefore seems very attractive
  1. For dieters, dessert becomes a forbidden fruit.

Luddite (N)
  • a person who is opposed to new technology or working methods
  1. Our grandparents are luddite.
  2. My father also shows luddite attitude.
