Placable vs Placeable

 Placable vs Placeable

If you forget "e" in placeable, it would become other word placable that means something else. We should be very careful spelling the words. Let's see these words.

    Placable

Placable means someone who easily gets calmed or pacified. Someone who is placable is gentle, mild and easily appeasable, like our mother.

    • David showed himself placable, and prepared to pardon the adherents of Absalom.
    • Mrs. Orton was less placable; she sat aloof, and secretly longed to be able to say her say.

    Placeable

Placeble comes from place + able. Somthing that is capable of being placed.

It also means capable of being identified.

    • These dices are placeable in the small box.
    • Like all of the brand’s designs, the T-shirt’s aesthetic is not immediately placeable, or even especially lovely in any conventional sense.

    How to memorize them.

Placable = Plac + able that means capable of being easily calmed.

Placeable = Place + able meaning capable of being placed.

Just memorize that placable has not "e" after "c", and placeable has "e" after "c".
