LIE (V)
Meaning:-- to be or put yourself in a flat or horizontal position
- (of a thing) to be or remain in a flat position on a surface
- She likes to lie in bed all day.
- The book lay(V2) open on his desk.

->untrue, not genuine
->to say something that you know is no true
LAY (V)
Meaning:-- to put somebody/something in a particular position
- to put something down, especially on the floor
- to put down or spread
- The grapes were laid to dry on racks.
- He lays his gun on the table.
Mind Tricks:-
Many times we forget and confuse the sense of using Lay and Lie. Not to jumble the sense of these two words, we will use the mind tricks.Step 1- Lie is an intransitive verb(used without a direct object). As i resembles in both of the words, we can conclude that lie is an intransitive verb.
Step 2- With the help of word Die, we can learn the sense of word Lie. When we die, we lie. As word Lie means to be or put yourself in a flat or horizontal position.
