Despotic, Autocratic, Dictatorial, Tyrannical. Being used as synonyms, these words have some difference between them. Let's explore them.
Despotic
Despotic refers to a ruler or person who use their power over other people in a very unfair or cruel way. If you say that someone is despotic, you are emphasizing that they use their power over other people in a very unfair or cruel way.
Despot means a ruler with great power uses its power in a cruel way.

Autocratic
An autocratic person or ruler who has complete power to take any decisions without asking anyone else's advice.

Dictatorial
Dictatorial means ruled by a dictator. It is used to describe a person who tries to control other people in a forceful and unfair way.

- In Syria, for the first time in more than 40 years of dictatorial rule, protesters poured into the streets and dared to openly criticize and ridicule the regime.
Tyrannical
It means using power or authority over people in an unfair and cruel way. A tyrannical ruler has absolute power and authority, and often use that power in cruel and oppressive way.

What is the difference between these adjective ?
These all adjectives suggest repressive behavior by a person or group of them.
Despotic suggests a harsh and cruel way of using power. A despotic class teacher beats students for no reason.
Dictatorial suggests wielding of unrestrained power, usually in the hands of one person and can apply whether this power is used fairly or cruelly. A dictator can use their power in favor of people or against the people.
Autocratic suggests one-person rule rather than how it is exercised. Autocrat means a ruler who has complete power. He makes his own rule, and doesn't ask any advice from anybody.
Tyrannical suggests the arbitrary and abusive use of power concentrated in the hands of one person. It is generally not used for rulers or government. However, it is used for someone who is in government, and government has given lots of power to him/her.
A government officer can be tyrannical officer who is in top position, and has lots of power.
