Memory Tricks
Affection vs. Affectation
Affection is a real feeling, while affectation is fake behavior. The only spelling difference between them is the letters "ta" after the "c." We can use this "ta" to create a memory trick for affectation.
Now think:
Affectation → has "ta" → like in "acting" → which is fake behavior.
Affection → has no "ta" → no act → it’s genuine feeling.
By learning one word, the other becomes easy to remember.
In a nutshell
Affection is love.
Affectation meant to impress.
Infection is sickness.
