We will learn and memorize five words with mnemonic.





    Vociferous (Adj.)

    It means expressing your opinions or feelings in a loud and confident way.

    If you describe someone as vociferous, you mean they speak loudly and with great passion or insistence.

    vociferous protests, a vociferous critic

    • The vociferous debate involved heated interruptions.
    • The protestors were vociferous, shouting slogans for hours.

    Mnemonic:

    Vociferous is like Voci (vocal, voice) and ferous is like ferocious means angry, violent. This way we can learn that vociferous means voicing something in a ferocious (loud and forceful) manner.

    We connect the sound and meaning of vociferous to something loud and intense.



    Impecunious (Adj.)

    Impecunious means penniless; having little or no money.

    Someone who is impecunious has very little money.

    • After losing his job, he became impecunious.
    • The impecunious poet traded verses for meals.

    Mnemonic:

    Impecunious comes from Im + pecunia; Im means not, and pecunia is  Latin word for money. 

    Hence, impecunious comes from "im-" (meaning ‘not’) and pecunious (related to ‘money’); it means having no money.


    Immure (verb)

    Immure means to shut somebody in a place so that they cannot get out.

    •  The King was immured in the slave castle.
    • After the funeral, she immured herself in the house for months.

    Mnemonic:

    Immure comes from im meaning in/ into and mure meaning wall. So immure means into walls, to confine.

    Immure looks like immune. 

    Immune is like walls that protect you. Immure is like walls that trap you.

     Both of them means to keep you inside a wall.


    Embryonic (Adj.)

    Embryonic means something in an early stage of development.

    An embryonic process, idea, organization, or organism is one at a very early stage in its development.

    • Their startup was still in an embryonic phase.
    • Her embryonic novel had just a few scattered notes.

    Mnemonic:

    Embryonic comes from embryo (young baby under development ) + nic. Embryo means early stage of life and nic is suffice for related to. Hence embryonic means related to an embryo or early stage of life or something else.



    Rudimentary (Adj.)

    Rudimentary means basic or simple, not very developed. Rudimentary things are very basic and simple.

    • He speaks rudimentary English.
    • They don't have even rudimentary knowledge of human anatomy.


    Mnemonic:

    Rudimentary looks and sounds like "R (are) u (you)  d (the) imentary (elementary). As we know elementary thing is very simple and basic.

    Rudimentary = Are you the elementary? Elementary means basic or first course of something, like elementary school, elementary course, etc.

    One more way to remember the word.

    Rudimentary is like Rude + mental; rude people are not good, they have no respect for other people because they have very less and basic knowledge of something. Hence with the help of word Rude, we can memorize Rudimentary.
